Psyche is the Great Danger

Psyche is the great danger. ~ C.G. Jung

Rusticus told Marcus Aurelius to abstain from poetry, fine writing, orations and many things as recorded in the latter's Meditations.

Irshad Kamil can live inside the psychological elements that helps him write his poetry. He has a gift from the Lord. But not so for other men.

Kundan was not fit for the elements that his psychology showed. Devdas as imagined by Sarat Chandra wasn't either. Millions of men who have been penetrated by Eros are also not fit.

Kundan feels something other-worldly as his love puts some gulaal on his face. Raanjhanaa was a tragic film that hides behind Irshad Kamil's poetry, A.R. Rahman's music and Dhanush's energy.

If you hold yourself dear then guard, guard yourself well.
The wise person would stay awake nursing himself in
any of the three watches of the night, the three stages of life. ~ Buddha, Dhammapada

Gratitude to Prof. John Archibald Wheeler

I belong to a small town (Giridih) where many students never hear about Albert Einstein's great theories or what they mean. Einstein's name is known just like someone would know the name of a President.

I heard the name of Einstein in 2005, which marked 100th year of special relativity. (I was starting 6th Year of high school.) In 2012, Einstein's special relativity was a small part of undergrad physics course. In Jan 2018, John Archibald Wheeler's book on Spacetime Physics gave me better idea of special relativity. In 2019, I came to know that Wheeler has written a book on Gravitation (Einstein's general relativity) with his two PhD students.

In 2021, I realised that Wheeler took the teaching of "young minds" very seriously and lectured freshman and sophomore year students. Thus, Wheeler's commitment to students was the force behind the books and has eventually helped me (a novice) read Einstein's theories. A student who in his 6th year of high school would have never thought it possible.

Wheeler passed way in the year 2008. I continued in high school, not knowing that a person has passed away who is going to make me grateful in my future years. Wheeler did reference a verse from Mahabharat in his textbook on Gravitation, but Wheeler also fulfilled a verse from Brihadaranyaka Upanishad whereby his good deeds continue to live in this world.

Time is awake when all things sleep.
Time stands straight when all things fall.
Time shuts in all and will not be shut.
Is, was, and shall be are Time's children.
O Reasoning, be witness, be stable.
